Havanese...

The Havanese originates from Cuba, and is known as the national dog of Cuba. It was once popular amongst the ruling classes in Havana. The Havanese is truly one of the most delightful of the small breeds. They are exceptionally intelligent and quick-witted. Their love of attention comes from their adorable little "show-off" natures. They are curious and busy constantly. Havanese are natural companion dogs: gentle and responsive. They become very attached to their human families and are excellent with children.

The Havanese coat should be long, soft and somewhat flowing, with an abundance of undercoat. Caring for the show coat requires regular grooming to keep it in peak condition. Brushing daily or every second day is important if you don’t want to fight with matting in the hair. Always wet hair using a spray bottle filled with water, or a water/detangler/conditioner mix before brushing. Wet any tangles or mats and gently tease them apart with your fingers or a comb. Also, regular eye, ear, and teeth care is required. Nails need to be trimmed every couple of weeks.
